How Much Cash Should You Bring?
Although most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, it’s always a good idea to carry some cash.
Many local businesses, small grocery stores and activity providers either prefer or only accept cash.
We usually recommend bringing USD 200 to 500 in cash, depending on the length of your stay and the activities you plan to do.
There is one ATM in Santa Catalina, but it occasionally runs out of cash, especially during holidays and busy weekends.
If possible, withdraw money in Santiago de Veraguas before driving to Santa Catalina.
Where Can You Save Money?

Santa Catalina has several grocery stores selling fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, pasta, rice and basic cooking essentials.

Many of our guests enjoy eating out for dinner while cooking a few simple meals during the day.
